Silvia Forrest was born in Brazil and spent her childhood surrounded by an artistic environment provided by the many musicians in the family.

 

Raised and educated in Brazil and in Israel, she graduated  from the Federal University of Parana’  and went on to enjoy a successful career as a chemical engineer both in Brazil and in the United States where she has lived since the 1980’s.

 

 She was finally able to realize her dream of painting full time when  she decided to retire from engineering in 2000 and commit fully to her art career.

Having lived in several countries with strikingly different cultures has considerably broadened her perception of the world. She believes that  imagination and exploration are the roots of creativity, whether in art or in science.

She is convinced that learning is a life long endeavor that can be enhanced by teachers and colleagues but is dependent fundamentally on the individual's desire to grow.
